Like I mentioned above, I took both online copywriting courses. At the start of my career, I chose Filthy Rich Writer’s Comprehensive Copywriting Academy.
After I had been copywriting for about 2 years, I then stretched my skills with AWAI’s Accelerated Program to 6-Figure Copywriting.
However, when you’re on the hunt for the best course on copywriting, you want the clearest answers you can find.

For starters, Filthy Rich Writer offers free online copywriting training, which every aspiring copywriter should check out.
The paid course uses guided lessons, worksheets and group feedback. All of the lessons are short, sweet and to the point, so you can cram in great learning - even in just 15 minutes per day.
It also covers nearly every type of copywriting project you’d ever come across, making you a well-rounded copywriter that will get noticed right away.
Another plus is that they are constantly updating their lessons (and adding more). With lifetime access to the course, you can hop in and get new information, even years after buying it!

And honestly, investing in both of these copywriting trainings was well worth it for my career and business. The skills I learned in both of these courses helped me to increase my income drastically.
With Filthy Rich Writer’s course, I was able to up my rates from being a blogger to being a copywriter (even when I was just starting out at the time).
With AWAI’s course, I was able to charge higher copywriting rates since I learned direct response copywriting skills.
Learning Style Comparison
I really liked how Filthy Rich Writer’s online course on copywriting teaches you via PowerPoint slides and a voiceover from Nicki Krawczyk, the copywriting instructor herself.
The course also provides you with action sheets (basically worksheets) that give you prompts to practice copywriting.
If you’d like feedback on your work, you can always share your drafts in the private Facebook group (there are thousands of people on there now). Or, you can even get 1-on-1 coaching from Filthy Rich Writer’s copy coaches. This is an additional charge.
The learning style of AWAI’s online copywriting course is textbook based. The textbook is available online for convenience. With the textbook, there are all sorts of copywriting exercises and examples.
I did enjoy how AWAI’s course gives you examples of older copywriting campaigns that worked (or that didn’t). You can analyze why these pieces of copy worked or what needs to be improved.
Unlike AWAI, Filthy Rich Writer’s course did not have as many “real world” examples to draw from.
AWAI also has a Facebook group, however, student-to-student feedback is not as prevalent there (compared to Filthy Rich Writer’s).

They have lessons that teach you the basics for all sorts of projects. After taking their course, I felt confident in writing website copy, print ads, email marketing, product descriptions, webinars and more. Clients loved that I was well-versed in all sorts of projects.
If you want to justify that you are a great copywriter who can make your clients money, I suggest you look into AWAI’s 6-Figure course first.
This course focused on direct response copywriting (lucrative skills that directly connect a client’s conversions to your copy).

Copywriting is meant to get conversions for your client’s business. But it’s a whole other thing to write a piece of copy that is the sole reason for conversions. As in, someone read your copywriting and took action solely because of it.
This is called direct response copywriting.
Direct response is mainly found in sales letters, direct mail and email marketing. Just imagine if you wrote an email for a company, they sent it out, and they made millions off the 1 email you wrote. Your writing becomes extremely valuable!
