A few things to know before you pay and commit…

HoneyBook presents itself as a user-friendly way for small businesses to automate their workflows and accept digital payments.

It definitely does do that, but here are a few more things to know before you completely integrate your business into this CRM.

I’m a current HoneyBook user. I wanted to put together a comprehensive HoneyBook review to help you determine if it’s worth it for your business. Was it worth it for mine? We’ll get to that.

After reading this HoneyBook review, if you think it’s worth a shot, here’s a link to snag it at 30% off, plus a 7-day free trial. No credit card needed upfront.

What Exactly Do You Get with HoneyBook?

HoneyBook’s goal is to streamline how you do business, giving you more free time… or at least, less time on tedious admin tasks and more time on work that matters (and makes you money).

From a business perspective, HoneyBook is an all-in-one software app:

Invoices: Send digital invoices quickly and easily to get paid - quickly and easily.

Proposals: Automate client intake so that you only interact once you have paying, enthusiastic clients.

Scheduling: Get booked without the back-and-forth of scheduling via email.

Contracts: Simplify contracts with e-signatures and instant alerts when everything is signed.

Automation: Save time (and creative juice) on lead generation, emails and other tasks.

Integration: Access your favorite tools like Zoom, Google Calendar, QuickBooks and Zapier, right on the platform.

What’s So Great About HoneyBook?

If you ask me, my favorite HoneyBook features are the scheduling and automation aspects. These are exactly what I needed to spend less time on necessary (but unpaid) tasks.

Overall, HoneyBook is a cost-effective way to capitalize on advanced software that bigger companies are already using. The key to growing your business is streamlining your workweek to maintain high productivity without burning out.

I know my HoneyBook workflows are working 24/7 for me. And when I get a lead, they’ve already accomplished most of the intake work that used to take me several hours per client - and that’s before they ever signed a contract!

What’s Not So Great About HoneyBook?

To be honest, it took me a while to really understand everything that HoneyBook could do. They offer tons of educational videos and support, but I tried to implement HoneyBook while still running my business full time.

I implemented the HoneyBook CRM in small fragments at the end of the business day. Or, I watched a how-to video on a Friday afternoon and didn’t execute it until the following week.

I think if I had dedicated a full week to learning and integrating everything into HoneyBook all in one stint, I could have gotten things up and running faster. I also would have probably integrated everything perfectly if I spent adequate time on their learning materials initially.

Is HoneyBook Worth It?

I think it is. There was a point in my small business where I was spending hours per week doing admin tasks, rather than those high income-earning hours that make my business money. My high-impact “CEO hours,” if you will.

I either needed to keep “business as usual” or get smart with how I spent my time. Instead of doing essential client intake, bookkeeping and invoicing, the HoneyBook software does it for me. That gives me way more time to work on client projects and to explore other ways to monetize my business.

If you’re still hesitant, I suggest doing the 7-day free trial. There’s no credit card required.

Is HoneyBook a Good CRM?

I love that HoneyBook offers so many videos, webinars and education to help you make the most out of your CRM plan. Don’t skip the education materials! Your HoneyBook integration will go so much smoother and be way more profitable if you know what you’re doing.

The software itself is very intuitive and customizable. Once you learn how to create your sales funnels and set your color scheme, your customers experience a simple process that is all branded how you want it.

How Much Does HoneyBook Cost Per Year?

When compared to other CRMs, HoneyBook remains competitive and perhaps even more cost-effective than other options.

HoneyBook offers monthly payment plans or the option to pay in full for the year. Here is the pricing structure from their site.

But no worries! Get 30% off your first year with this link (free trial included).

As you can see from the pricing above, paying in full for the year gives you a 17% savings, so that’s cool.

One thing to note: As your business grows past $10,000 in total transactions, you’ll have to upgrade to one of the unlimited plans (monthly or annually). But this gives you an all-access pass to automated tools and support.

Believe me: When you’re making more money, tools like HoneyBook help you grow exponentially. It’s almost a detriment if you don’t utilize “next-level” tools to level up.

After all, you won’t get to the next level in business by doing the same things you’re doing right now.

Where Can I Find HoneyBook Discounts?

I have a free trial and 30% off discount right here!

With the link above, you’ll be redirected to a page where you can claim your 30% off and then start a 7-day free trial of HoneyBook. Your 30% discount will automatically be applied if you decide to purchase a plan at the end of the trial.

Already used up your free trial? You can get 30% off too! Just enter the promo code amandacopy at checkout.

What Percentage Does HoneyBook Take?

Just like any online payment service, HoneyBook takes a percentage of your sales on the platform. According to their website, the fee structure is simple and transparent:

  • 3% fee for credit card payments

  • 1.5% fee for ACH bank transfers

I get it. Payment fees can really add up over the course of the year for your small business. However, whether it is Wave or PayPal or HoneyBook, these secure, fast, digital payment services expedite money into your bank account. Plus, they make it really easy for clients to pay you.

According to a 2017 PayPal study, small businesses that accept online payments make 2X more than businesses that don’t.

To avoid payment fees, I guess you could ask for a paper check? I used to ask for paper checks, but now that I’m scaling up my business, I need a streamlined way to invoice and receive digital payments from clients. Digital payment is the gold standard.

Any hey, to offset any payment fees, here’s a perk for reading this HoneyBook review: Get 30% off and a free trial!

Who Shouldn’t Use HoneyBook?

HoneyBook is not for everyone. If you’re a green entrepreneur who is just starting out and barely making ends meet financially, I would use caution jumping into another business expense.

It’s also best-suited for online businesses. At least, service-based businesses that can work online. It can’t replace an online store where inventory has to move in and out.

My HoneyBook Review Verdict

Like I mentioned before, I use HoneyBook for my business. I haven’t needed to switch CRMs because HoneyBook does what I need it to do.

I was also very inexperienced when it came to CRMs, so HoneyBook is great for a budding business owner who is ready to do whatever it takes to get to the next level.

Plus, I know if I was offered 30% off your first year and a free trial of HoneyBook, I’d jump on it.
